We are glad you found us.
Whether you have just begun writing or have several publishing credits to your name, there is something here for you. It is safe to say you will get out of this community what you have the time, energy or interest in putting into it.
In the spirit of learning the craft, please remember that you learn as much from commenting on other’s stories, as you do from having your own critiqued. So don’t be shy about jumping in.
The community is password protected. This preserves the first publication rights of our authors while still giving them a format in which to receive feedback, valuable to the learning process.
Play nice! We have contributors of all ages, experience levels and backgrounds. Think about the kinds of comments that are most helpful to you, and tailor your responses appropriately. Conversations and comments are expected to be within the PG range in terms of content and language. There is a proviso of a hidden adult content forum, which can be unlocked if you are over 18 and have asked permission for access.
The NoteBored has many administrators, moderators and core members ready, willing and eager to meet you and help you navigate the forums. To get oriented and preview the types of forums that the NoteBored has to offer, click the OVERVIEW navigation button to the left.
The Noteblog is another easy way to check in and discover what’s happening at the NoteBored. Bookmark the link to keep the latest news and events at your fingertips.
If you have any further questions, feel free to e-mail me at Deanna AT notebored.com.
The very first thing you need to register is an invitation code. You can get this by e-mailing register@notebored.com with the subject line:
Writer Registration
In the body of that email, give us a brief description of your work as a writer so far. No one will be turned down based on what they include here, this is just so we can get to know you a little.
We will send you an invitation code. Usually within a day or two.
Once you have your invitation code, simply go through the automated process. The registration button can be found on the left side menu at http://www.notebored.com/ on the forums page about half an inch below the notebord logo or via this link http://www.notebored.com/board/profile.php?mode=register
All we really need is your email address, your user name and you pick a password. There are optional places to enter the various handles you may use on the many IM platforms. Enter these if you want to. You can also put in your webpage and other similar information about yourself. You will need that invitation code here, too.
At the bottom there are a bunch of yes/no questions. Leave those as they are for now, you can change them at any time later.
Same goes for the four boxed answer questions. You can leave those as they are, too. You might want to change the timezone, but the rest can wait and be changed later.
Click submit then patiently wait while we click the okay button on our end. This should take less than a day. Watch your email for the "Account Activated" email. Then come back and join in the fun.
When you come back, start in the new members forum and introduce yourself. We have plenty of helpful people who will answer all of your questions and help you find success as a writer. Some of the answers will likely even be correct.
Any other questions can be directed to info@notebored.com

I just created an account with Amazon.com Please use the NoteBored's book portal to make purchases that you would normally make at the same great savings you normally would get through Amazon. The only difference, is that NoteBored will get a percentage of the profit.
All proceeds from any purchase bought through this website will go directly to support the Notebored Community. We currently run regular contests and have plans on launching a magazine in 2007 that will highlight the art and writing of NoteBored members. Stay tuned for further news as it becomes available.
